Though the Supreme Court has released its decision stating that there is a ‘constitutional right’ to homosexual ‘marriage,’ thankfully, the Court does not have the final say. Almighty God, the Creator of the universe and of men and women, set the definition of marriage when He created Adam and Eve, “in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” God designed marriage as one man and one woman covenanted together for a lifelong, living, and loving relationship that reflects the very nature of God Himself. Quoting from the Genesis account of the first marriage ceremony, the Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:31-33, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a profound mystery–but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
Though darkness appears to have won a battle, Light has already won the war!
John, the Beloved Apostle, wrote in 1 John 1:5b-7, “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”
Some may declare the Court ruling as a victory for homosexual ‘love.’ But homosexual ‘love’ is not Love at all! It is as far from real love as darkness is from light. 1 John 4:7-10, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
To all true children of God, this is not a time for fear. It is a time for real love. 1 John 4:18 records, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…”
Darkness is the absence of light. The only way darkness can increase is for light to decrease. Cursing the darkness will not make it decrease. Increasing the Light is the only thing that will dispel darkness!
“But what does that mean John?” you may ask.
The most powerful way to push back the darkness is for every Christian husband and every Christian wife to live out the Love of God in their marriage and family! The homosexual agenda has nothing that can equal the real Love of a godly man and a godly woman loving each other in a marriage as God designed.
Church of Jesus Christ, too many of those professing to be Christians have allowed the darkness to increase by failing to live and love the light in their marriages!
Homosexuals and those supporting their sin are acting according to their nature, which is a sin nature. The members of Bride of Christ must act according to the nature of Christ which has been given to us when we were reconciled to God. Judgment must begin in the House of God!
…Husbands who sit in the pew on Sunday, with their words declaring their love for God and their wife, and then sit in front of the computer demonstrating that their real love is for pornography and other sexual sins! REPENT!
…Wives who speak about their love of God in Sunday School, then demonstrate that their love is really for the excitement and fleeting attention in another man’s arms! REPENT!
“For God so loved the world (homosexuals, liars, adulterers, murderers, …) that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him (not just believe that He exists, but believe He is the absolutely holy and righteous Judge of all creation) shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Our response must be to stop cursing the darkness and shine the Light! God’s love remains!
In His sovereignty, God has called me and The Center for Mighty Marriages & Families to help bring unity in the true Body of Christ by helping every Christian husband and wife live and love each other like God loves them, to help them reconcile with God and each other. Together, as the earthly representation of Christ and His bride, they shine a light that will not be extinguished.
If any of you see me acting in any way inconsistent with the revealed words of God, I would be in sin and in need of repenting. Otherwise, “Follow me as I follow Christ.”
I continue to strive to be a humble servant of Christ with a lifelong pursuit of loving my incredible gift from God, my wife, Terri, as Christ loves the Church and gave himself for her. I love Terri so much more and better than I did twenty years ago this coming Wednesday. But we feel like we’re just getting started in marriage. If the Lord allows, we want a hundred more years to love each other more and better. Christian husbands and wives, will you strive along with us?
If anyone has questions or comments, I would like to hear from you.
