Overview of Mediation
Mediation is a process in which parties to a conflict retain control and input into the outcome or settlement of the dispute. Mediation through the ICC uses a distinct process which encourages conciliatory preparation and process. The mediator facilitates discussion and assists parties in following a process but does not negotiate or advocate for a particular settlement.

It is best to use Mediation when:
- Mediation – Ordered by the court
- Stipulated by contract
- Complex issues
- All parties interested in resolution
- All parties willing to make good faith effort
- Parties desire to remain in control of solutions
