Should you help save a helpless life? Some would say, “Only if you want to.”

Last week’s Time magazine had a great article about the life-saving medical advances in helping babies born premature. It outlines the incredible lengths medical professionals can go to save the life of the baby. The story focuses on David Joyce, a baby born at only 29 weeks after conception. A large team of medical professionals worked with him around the clock for weeks to help him not only survive, but be able to go home.

As I read the article, I was amazed at what could be done to save lives. I’m encouraged that there are still many medical professionals who think all human life is worth trying to save. I also couldn’t help but think about the multiplied thousands of babies David’s same age that never had a chance at going home, because they were aborted. Babies are regularly aborted in our country at 29 weeks and put out with the other ‘medical waste!’

What’s the difference between David Joyce and the unnamed thousands of aborted babies his same age??? David was wanted by his parents.

Is that how the value of life should be determined?

Genesis 9:5b-6 records God speaking to Noah, saying, “And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.”

Every human life has incredible value because God put His Image in every human life, even the one’s not wanted by their parents.

What value does your actions show that the unborn baby is worth?

Christians…We must stand for life, or give an accounting to God for why we didn’t!
